Utility programs, delivered at checkout
The rebate at checkout. Or after, anywhere.
Instant and post-purchase rebates run on one platform, against one eligibility check and one claim history — so the same purchase cannot be paid twice.
- 39M+
- households reached
- 2 → 1
- delivery modes, one claim history
- Receipt read and matched to the catalog
- Service address checked against every prior claim
- Eligibility confirmed against your customer records
The same rebate, on the same model, either way.
The problem
Two systems, two answers about the same customer.
When instant delivery and post-purchase claims run on separate systems, eligibility gets evaluated twice by two sets of logic, and each system checks a claim against only its own history.
The customer record is split, so the reconciliation is manual, and the gap between the two systems is where duplicate claims and slow turnaround live. Nothing about that is a processing problem — it is an architecture problem, and it does not resolve by processing faster.
How it works
One eligibility check. One catalog. One claim history.
A purchase on the marketplace and a purchase made anywhere else arrive at the same place. What changes between the two modes is when the customer sees the money — not what qualifies, or how it is verified.
Bought on the marketplace
The incentive comes off the price before checkout.
Bought anywhere else
The customer claims it afterwards through Fast Track™.
Everything is decided once
- Eligibility checked against your customer records
- The model matched against the Choice Engine® catalog
- The claim written to a history both modes read
One rebate
At your approved incentive level, counted once.
Why it matters
The hard parts are consequences of the architecture.
-
Stacking
Assembles against the customer, not a table
Utility, government and manufacturer incentives combine according to the segment the customer actually falls into, resolved at the transaction. An income-qualified adder and a manufacturer promotion land on the same order without a program manager pre-computing the combinations.
-
Tax
Rebates land on the right side of tax
Pre-tax and post-tax treatment is applied correctly per incentive. Most e-commerce platforms were not built for this and get it wrong, which surfaces later as a reconciliation the program has to absorb.
-
Certainty
Claims are matched to the catalog
A claim is checked against the same Choice Engine® catalog the marketplace sells from, so a customer learns at claim time whether their model qualifies — not weeks later, and not after the program has already counted it.
-
Integrity
A purchase cannot be claimed twice
Both modes write to one claim history, and every claim is checked against every prior claim for that service address. Caps hold across the two modes because there is only one place a claim can be recorded.
Verification
Watch it read a receipt.
Post-purchase claims are verified by a model that reads the receipt — retailer, date, order number, line items, prices — rather than by a person working a queue. It is in production in the back office, and it completes verification in less than half the time the manual queue took.

Questions
What program teams ask about rebate delivery.
How do instant and post-purchase stay reconciled with each other?
They are not reconciled, because they are never separate. Both modes check eligibility against the same customer records and write to the same claim history, so a cap consumed at checkout is already consumed when a claim arrives later that day.
What happens when a claim does not qualify?
The customer is told which rule the claim missed — the model, the date, the cap, the document — rather than receiving a decline with no reason. Because the model is matched against the catalog, most non-qualifying purchases are identified at claim time.
How are caps and lookback periods configured?
By category, per household, on a program-year or multi-year lookback, set to your program terms. Enforcement is at the transaction rather than at reporting, so a cap that is reached stops the next order rather than surfacing in a later reconciliation.
Can we run post-purchase only, without instant rebates?
Yes. Some partners run the Choice Engine® and Fast Track™ with no instant rebates at all. Adopting the platform does not require restructuring into midstream delivery on day one, and instant can be added later without changing how claims are processed.
What does the customer see at each step?
At checkout, the rebate amount on the product before they buy and the net price at the till. Afterwards, confirmation that the receipt was read, what was extracted from it, and the decision with its reason.
